I really like that one…

Tried to play volleyball yesterday at 6:30AM on the very windy beach in the cold.  Not used to playing on the sand.  Called it quits after a couple of hours cuz it was just no happening.  I confided in a friend of what was going on with my wife and he updated me on some family issues of his own.

I’m at work.  I’m off tomorrow for Veteran’s day because some genius thought it would be better this way rather than celebrating the holiday today and making it a 3-day weekend.

Anger levels are still running high.  I hate you God.  I really do… For you not to intervene on the behalf of good people is disgusting.  For you to even allow evil people to run rampant just speaks volumes about your true nature.  And I’m going to devote more than one entry to pointing out what a cowardly and arbitrary SOB you truly are.

Have no idea how the holidays will go.  Neither of us are in a festive mood.  These people who have come into our lives and turned it upside-down deserve to go to hell.

I like the idea of being “hidden in plain sight”.  That’s how I think of this blog.  There are millions of blogs out there, but what are the chances of anybody running across mine.  Only one other person knows about this blog…

Wondering if I should take my wife out to see BOOMERS this weekend.  Just to escape for a little bit.  So sick of all the sh*t.  So sick of living.  Or maybe I’m just tired.  If I lose my wife, then I will have nothing to lose.  Isn’t someone who has nothing to lose one of the more dangerous types?

The house is a mess.  I think flies are thriving. 

I am doomed.  I can feel it.  It’s too late for me.  You don’t treat people like this.  I cannot forgive…

My wife & I did a Prison Break marathon and we also saw Changeling.

So I got a  flat tire yesterday.

Something felt funny as I drove out of the parking lot last night after work.  Felt like my car was “dragging”.  [MENTAL NOTE: IF SOMETHING FEELS "FUNNY" WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING {AND YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY "FUNNY"... IF YOU'VE DRIVEN YOUR CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS, THEN YOU KNOW WHAT FEELS "FUNNY"}, GET THE HELL OUT AND INVESTIGATE!!]  When I got on the freeway, there was a very real and noticable pull towards the left.  At first I thought someone might have hit one of my front tires.  About 1/3 of the way home, on the freeway, my left rear tire blew.  Forced me to get off at the nearest exit.  Luckily not too many cars on the freeway.  And I didn’t want to be in the freeway emergency lane.  I wanted to be on public streets.

The tire was shredded and HOT!!

So I called the wife at home.  She suggested I call Triple A.  But being a man, I just had to change the tire myself.  Which I did.

Given the infinite number of things that can go wrong on a day to day basis, getting a flat isn’t too bad.  Especially when I compare it to what my wife’s going thru…

There were street lights, but not too bright.  In fact, it was still a dark pain to get the doughnut and jack out.  [For those of you whose spare is in the trunk, make sure you keep that trunk, if not empty, then at least not too crowded.  While my trunk wasn't loaded, there was just enough stuff to be annoying.  Had to throw stuff into the back seat while I fished out the spare and jack.  ]Actually had to break out the manual to figure some things out.  Then I remembered I had those little glow sticks that you crack in order to get light.  Those came in handy. 

So all in all, it wasn’t bad.  Just another one of life’s minor annoyances.

The following morning (today), I went to the dealer and got a new tire.  Kind of annoying to have one brand new tire and three worn ones. 

According to the manual, the doughnut is good for about 3,500 miles.  The philosophy being: “Go ahead and finish your trip and get a brand new tire when you come back”.   I won’t be testing that claim.

So I joined Facebook just yesterday.  It was recommended to me by a very good friend… the same friend who originally recommended blogging.  And I must say I am quite impressed.  Just another way to network and keep in touch with old friends.  Somebody said “No man’s an island”.  And I believe this.  As much as I am an introvert, I’m very thankful for the friends that I have.  And in less than two days, I have been reminded that I know more people than I thought I knew.  And that’s a good feeling.

Some can be in a crowd of people and yet, feel utterly alone.  As the holidays approach, I am very thankful for having a wonderful wife and a core group of friends.  I can’t imagine what it’s like to feel utterly alone.

I have another blog… but I’ve lost interest in it.  Not the name, mind you, just the blog itself.  I really liked the name of my old blog.  And I really loved my avatar.  I hate to part with it.  It’s still out there… if you know who I am.  But I feel like I needed to make a change.  New name, new blog, etc…

So nobody knows about this new blog, except for one friend, and I’ve sworn him to secrecy.  I want it that way.  Part of me is curious to see if any random people will run across my blog and maybe even comment.

I have no idea what I’ll be posting.  Maybe this will be my one and only post.   Maybe it’ll become my on-line diary.  I watch lots of movies, so maybe I’ll become one of those many critics on-line. 

I’m a libra, hence the name of my blog.

I sit here in my office (yes, in my office) doing personal sh*t like blogging rather than pushing the papers back and forth and up and down like a good little automated worker.

I sit here listening to an Aerosmith ballad because my supervisor is gone for the day. 

I sit here and wonder what the next day will bring.

You see, life sucks right now.   Yeah, sure… life sucks for lots of people right now.   Life will always suck for some people.  But I don’t know what’s worse… If something bad is happening to you?  Or if something bad is happening to someone you love. 

Ah well… Perhaps I’ll elaborate more later…
